Who is Marvin???
If you are new to this site, you may notice occasional links to audio posts by someone named Marvin Bloom. Last fall, Marvin, a Long Island Jew for Jesus, Republican and Ex-Gay agreed to come onto my blog and post some audio blogs. His story has captivated the minds and hearts of people from Idaho to Sweden. To begin listening to Marvin, click here then click on the last page to start with the first Marvin posts.
My personal favorites:
Marvin's Crazy Church Experience
Marvin & Leonard
Marvin Takes on Lesbianism
Marvin Interviews Peterson!
Okay Marvinites (a term coined by Joe G.) what is your favorite Marvin post?

Well, I'm a big time Marvinite, so it's hard for me to choose a favorite, but I think for sheer edge-of-your-seat tension, you really can't beat the one where Marvin finds out about Pastor's little secret.
That was good, though my favorite is the one where the visiting preacher had a stroke, but everyone thought he was just filled with the Holy Spirit. Sad ending, though. :(

Jon, I totally agree with you. That might be my favorite post ever...especially since I have that friend who thought she had a mild heart attack at the Toronto Blessing...
Jew for Jesus and Ex-Gay - that guy is deluded on so many levels
What's the link for the visiting preacher having a stroke? I want to hear that one :-)
My fave is the one where he gets a straight mentor, cooks up a storm for the superbowl party and still winds up in the kitchen talking to the women instead of watching the game.
I think I'll put my vote in for the one where he goes on his first heterosexual date, and the girl (Soon) turns out to be a lesbian. Crazy.
The Marvin post about Brother Felix' stroke (in the Spirit) is the one I listed in this post--Marvin and His Crazy Church Experience.
That is my all time favorite for the humor, the poigancy and the depth of insight in Marvin's shock and questions.
I forgot all about Marvin's first mentor. What drama! Oh then there is the post when Marvin talks about his computer getting possessed by evil demonic viruses which he cast out in Jesus' name causing a complete crash in his hard drive.
Oh, and I have to add... the one where he explains to Willie Hewes (of all people) the value of comics. That was pretty priceless.
Marvin is truly an inspiration! His zeal for evangelism and for casting out all things demonic (and heck, for knowing they are demonic) is a true joy to witness. His deliverance from all things gay should be put into book form...it would be an instant best seller on the ex-gay circuit (not to be confused with circuit parties). I have a fondness for Marvin.
It really is hard to choose a favorite podcast of Marvin's - In my top two would have to be when the visiting preacher knocked himself out in the spirit (well...sort of...LOL) and the time that Marvin's mother got in cahoots with his ex Stuart, at which point Marvin saw Satan in both of them and attempted to cast him out.
What a zany man!! Wish there were more Marvin's in this world...completely happy to be just a little delusional.

Hi, I just wandered over from CrackerLilo's blog. I've got to say that Marvin is Marvelous. I think my favourite of the four listed was his counselling of Soon. I'm going to have to come back and listen to more.
